Jesus Is Coming Soon: Living with Urgency in Today’s World

The world constantly says to slow down, live for the moment, and chase comfort. But Scripture reminds me that time is not mine—it’s something God has entrusted to me. And Jesus Himself declares: “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.” (Revelation 22:12)

That truth changes everything.

Living Like the King Is Returning

If I knew the King was arriving at my doorstep today, I wouldn’t waste a second. I’d prepare, I’d clear out distractions, and I’d focus on what truly matters. That’s the mindset I want to carry every day—not out of fear, but out of love and reverence for the One who is coming back.

The world tries to keep me distracted. Social media scrolls, endless news, and empty pleasures compete for attention. But when I remember that Jesus is coming soon, my priorities shift. Obedience matters more than opinions, holiness outweighs popularity, and bold faith becomes the only way to live.

Urgency Without Panic

Living with urgency doesn’t mean running in fear—it means living with intention. It means choosing prayer instead of worry. It means serving instead of selfishness. Paul wrote in Romans 12:10–11: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

That verse reminds me that urgency looks like love in action. If I really believe Jesus could come at any moment, then every day is an opportunity to serve someone else, to build them up, and to point them toward Him.

And Paul also wrote: “For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” (1 Thessalonians 5:2) No one knows the exact hour, but I know I’m called to be awake, alert, and ready.

A Call to Bold Faith

This urgency shapes everything I do with Obedient Rebellion. I don’t design clothes just to look good—I design them to say something eternal. That’s why I’m currently working on a new shirt that declares “Jesus Is Coming Soon.” It’s not just a design—it’s a reminder. It’s a conversation starter. It’s my refusal to blend into a culture that rejects the truth.

Wearing my faith isn’t the end goal—living my faith is. But sometimes, a bold statement on a chest or a brim can spark the very conversation that points someone back to Christ. That’s why I keep creating: to encourage believers to live with urgency, obey Christ fully, and rebel against the world’s pull toward compromise.

Final Word

Jesus is coming soon. That reality doesn’t make me afraid—it makes me hopeful. It pushes me to act, not to sit still. It challenges me to live boldly, unashamed, and ready.

The King is coming—may I be found faithful.
